The establishment of Siyafunda Adult Education Training (SAET) was in 2002, by Lawrence Mpinga. The formation arose out of a need to educating the educationally deprived masses of our population in various sectors in the country. Adult Education and Training (AET) was identified as an important and most effective mode of imparting knowledge and critical skills. Siyafunda has a client base in both private and public sectors, and has successfully trained over 1500 learners in AET. Over the period the Institution managed to maintain a pass rate of 80%. These figures are based on learners who wrote the Independent Examination Board (IEB) examinations right trough level 1 – 4.

Today Siyafunda has grown and continued to play active and pivotal role in the development and provision of exceptional AET services in a large spectrum of industries and government parastatals over seven provinces of South Africa. And these include amongst others SASSETA, Department of Justice and Constitutional Development, Fidelity Security, Hlanganani Security, Securitas and the Department of Public Works.

Recently the Institution has also applied for accreditation with SASSETA to provide General Security Practice (NQF3) qualification as well as Project Management (NQF4) qualification with Services SETA. Not to mention that our ABET programmes (NQF1) are accredited by UMALUSI council for quality assurance in general and further education and training.
